Funwi Kelsea Ndohnwi is a young Cameroonian software developer and digital innovator whose passion for technology was inspired by video games and nurtured through self-learning despite limited resources. Guided by the values of hard work, resilience, and determination instilled by his family, he pursued science education in Buea, where the dynamic Silicon Mountain ecosystem further fueled his interest in software engineering.

His innovation, Guardian, is an AI-powered cybersecurity solution designed to combat the growing threat of mobile money fraud and phone scams. Unlike conventional cybersecurity tools that secure digital infrastructure, Guardian focuses on protecting the user. Using an offline-first artificial intelligence model that runs directly on the smartphone, the application analyzes live phone conversations to detect social engineering tactics, phishing attempts, and scam-related keywords in real time. When suspicious activity is identified, it instantly alerts the user and provides options to block and report the caller, preventing financial loss before it occurs.

Guardian primarily serves mobile money users, small business owners, merchants, and other vulnerable groups, helping to safeguard their finances while strengthening public trust in digital payment systems. Beyond financial protection, the solution contributes to greater confidence in digital financial inclusion and reduces the emotional distress caused by fraud. The project has already reached the prototype stage, received encouraging feedback from users, and gained visibility through hackathons and innovation programs. Funwi's vision is to deploy Guardian across Cameroon and eventually throughout Africa, making it an essential mobile security solution that protects millions of users while advancing homegrown technological innovation.
