In today's digital world, where misinformation, fake documents, phishing atacks, and online impersonation are becoming increasingly sophisticated, trust has become one of the greatest challenges of the digital era.
Recognizing this growing threat, Muchuo Sidoline Nangeh, a Computer Engineering student from Bamenda, has dedicated her skills and passion for technology to developing innovative solutions that help people navigate the digital space with confidence.
Raised in a humble family that instilled the values of integrity, resilience, and perseverance, Sidoline has always believed that technology should serve people and solve everyday challenges. Throughout her academic journey, she developed a keen interest in software engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital innovation, transforming classroom knowledge into practical solutions with real social impact.
This vision gave birth to Chekkam, an AI-driven digital trust platform designed to help individuals and organizations verify information before taking action. Unlike conventional verification tools, Chekkam combines artificial intelligence with human verification to assess the authenticity of digital content. Through its web platform, mobile application, and browser extension, users can instantly verify documents, emails, QR codes, links, images, and messages directly from popular platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, TikTok, and email.
The solution is intended to serve a wide range of users, from students, job seekers, and everyday citizens to businesses, financial institutions, healthcare providers, government agencies, educational institutions, NGOs, and telecommunications companies. By reducing digital fraud and misinformation while strengthening confidence in online interactions, Chekkam contributes to creating a safer and more trustworthy digital ecosystem for Cameroon.
Although developing such an ambitious solution required overcoming technical constraints and limited resources, Sidoline and her team successfully built a functional multi-platform prototype and continue to refine the innovation through collaboration and mentorship. Their long-term ambition is to establish Chekkam as Central Africa's leading digital trust platform, empowering millions of users while supporting Africa's journey toward a more secure and reliable digital future.
