NETWORKS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY DEPARTMENT
Under the authority of a Director, the Networks and Information Systems Security Department shall be responsible for:
- developing and following-up the implementation of the national policy in the domain of electronic communications networks and information systems protection and security, and the security audit certification , in conjunction with the National Agency for Information and Communication Technologies;
- promoting electronic communications networks and information systems security;
- following-up the evolution of issues related to the security of networks and certification activities;
- coordinating the national plan of the activities leading to the securement and the protection of electronic communications networks and information systems; - controlling the compliance of files relating to the issuance of authorizations to Certification Authorities, security Auditors, security consultants, security solutions integrators, publishers of security software and other security service providers;
- controlling the compliance of files relating to the issuance of Mutual Recognition Agreements to foreign certification authorities with Cameroon certification authorities;
- controlling the compliance of files relating to the issuance of homologation titles for cryptography equipment after examining the files thereto by the National Agency for Information and Communication Technologies;
- laying down pricing principles and rules for networks and information systems security services, as well as services provided by the National Agency for Information and Communication Technologies;
- popularizing protective measures for the populations against cybernetic criminal acts;
- securing the State's critical infrastructure and Public Administrations and deconcentrated Territorial Communities applications, in conjunction with Administrations and Organisations concerned;
- centralizing statistical data in the domain of cybersecurity and cybercrime;
It shall comprise:
- the Sub-Department of Security Technologies;
- the Sub-Department of Network Security Services;
