Minpostel boss validates the admission of 12 candidates to the internal incubation of the Cameroon Digital Innovation Centre (C-DIC) to begin the process on February 8th, 2022.
According to a release by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Li Likeng, after her call for registration that was open to young startups from the 17th of December 2021 to the 28th of January 2022 to participate in the Digital Challenge Competition of the 3rd Edition of the Digital Innovation Week, twelve (12) candidates gained admission to the internal incubation of the Cameroon Digital Innovation Centre.
The selection comprised of two (2) major phases with the first phase having as mission, to shorlist the candidates that fulfilled the criteria for competition that is; be a cameroonian residing within the National Territory, be a bearer of an innovative ICT project with a mature concept that meets the need of the population, and a functional and developed prototype at the first stage of marketing. The outcome of this exercise saw 20 candidates pre-selected.
In the conference hall of the ancillary building of Minpostel on February 5th, 2022, held the final selection phase. A jury made up of 9, with President Prof. BOUETOU BOUETOU Thomas, Head of the IT Department of the National Advanced School of Engineering Yaounde, Vice President Dr. MFUH Windfred FUAYE KENJI, Technical Adviser No 2 in Minpostel and other competent memebers and guests in the domain, had the herculean task of evaluating and noting the 20 pre-selected candidates on a score of a 100 based on the following parameters; the general presentation of the project, pitch talk and pitch task, demonstration, the originality and innovative nature of the project, its economic viability. Talking about projects that meet the need of the society, it is worthmentioning that the projects chosen, bring solutions to challenges in the domain of agriculture, transport, education, ICT, health and commerce.
The admitted candidates according to Minister Minette Libom Li Likeng, are expected to appear on February 08th, 2022 at 8:30am propmt at the C-DIC, located in Yaounde-Bastos to begin their process of incubation, a day equally set aside for the official inauguration of the said Centre.
As a point of reminder, the C-DIC is a centre specialised in detecting, supporting and promoting initiatives and innovations in the field of digital entrepreneurship by making available to the project bearer an accessible and flexible working environment with the latest educational didactics and engineering tools, efficient technical support services and facilitates the search fot funds.
