On Friday the 27th of October 2017, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunication issued a press briefing on the Audit Results of the quality of service of Electronic Communication Networks in Cameroon.

This first Audit conducted by Cybercom Group a Swedish consultancy of international repute sought to provide an accurate snapshot on the actual state of telecom network in Cameroon, identify root causes of deterioration in the quality of service and make recommendations to the government and other stakeholders.

In her address to the press, Minister Minette Libom Li Likeng said the Audit result affirm that the quality of service has continually deteriorated over the years because operators do not meticulously follow the terms of their contract and the TBR does not have the adequate tech capacity to effectively follow up the telecom operators.

Prior to the Press Briefing on the Audit Results, the Minister presided at a Restitution meeting with Cybercom Group (the auditors), CAMTEL, MTN Cameroon, Orange Cameroon and Nexttel Cameroon. During the meeting, she applauded the operators for cooperating during the Audit. The Minister exhorted them to adhere to the Recommendations made by Cybercom Group, stating that the government does not plan to sanction anyone but calls on the operators and the regulator to work together for the effective implementation of the Benchmarks, for best results.
