The conference room of the accessory building of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MINPOSTEL) hosted a session of the "Parliament" on Monday 6 March 2016, the general meeting for dialogue and exchange between Minister Minette Libom Li Likeng and the personnel of the central
services of the Ministry. This was the second meeting of its kind, initiated by the Minpostel the day after her arrival at the helm of this government department in 2nd October 2015. The first meeting was held on 4 March 2016.
The "Parliament" session of this 6th of March was held under the theme "Truths and mobilization for the achievement of the 2017 performance objectives of MINPOSTEL".
For more than three hours, the Minpostel listened to the concerns and expectations of the junior category staff members (agents, officials and heads of services). Among these expectations are the improvement of working and living conditions, fairness in the treatment of staff, development and regulation of the postal sector along with telecommunications and ICT’s, improvements in the circulation of mail, etc.
At each inquiry, the Minister gave a straightforward but reassuring answer to her collaborators In addition to the progress recorded in the sector's major projects, she announced the struggle to strengthen governance and the duty to render accounts within the MINPOSTEL for more transparency and less barriers between services.
Mrs Minette Libom Li Likeng is committed to spare no effort to deal with the priorities of the members of the MINPOSTEL family.
With this second session, the "Parliament" definitely becomes an instrument to enhance dialogue and improve the social climate in the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.
